GACRAO’s advanced track curriculum for experienced enrollment service of ficers, GISEM sessions are designed specifically to address the needs of ou r senior professionals who require a more substantive selection of sessions dealing with complex issues. This institute is designed for in-service Pro fessionals and delivered as a companion option to the annual state meeting.

ertise in the field of collegiate enrollment management strategies.
In the late 1980's, enrollment management nationally became a recognize
d and critical field within colleges and universities and also within the S
tate of Georgia. As a result, many GACRAO members' job responsibilities exp
anded to include crossover functions including Admissions, Recruitment, Rec
ords/Registrar, Financial Aid, and other areas of student services. These m
embers became the first Enrollment Manager pioneers in Georgia. GACRAO cont
inues to serve as the professional organization for Admissions and Records
Officers in Georgia.

Thes
e upgraded sessions advance progress in professional development as illustr
ated by the 2005 pilot Advance Track focus for veteran Enrollment Professio
nals offered at the GACRAO Conference held at Jekyll Island. This pilot won
AACRAO’s Elbert Ockerman award for State and Regional Professional Activit
ies.
By
attending two annual conference institutes and completing prescribed field
experiences, GISEM participants attain the distinction of Registered Enrol
lment Professional (REP). However, completion of the 30 contact hour requir
ements for the REP is voluntary; veteran professionals may choose to attend
the advance track sessions for professional development and not pursue the
optional certificate program.

fer professional development opportunities for both veteran and new enrollm
ent officers.
